Monotony

I'm not made for a 9-5 cubicle job and neither are most of the people in this world I suppose.

Some folks are content with staring at a computer screen and doing work to please a client or boss, but man this isn't for me.

I love having something steady and structured but I feel stifled and suffocated. I just wanna be free.

This sounds cheesy and it's obviously not realistic, but I imagine myself having wings that are pinned down to my sides. I want to spread them and fly. Incredibly lame, but you get the scene in your head.

I want to be free and save dogs and achieve my career dreams.

But till then, I'll sit idly in front of this computer screen typing emails away and let my wings wither until I can fly.

Dear readers,

I haven't been on this blog for awhile, I'm so sorry about that. I've been busy and when it's time to come home and do some down time, I'm so exhausted I plop on the bed and sleep.

I think love is a crock of bull. I'm sorry for using the slang curse word "shit" to describe how I feel about love, but there's no other way to explain it. I don't know if it's because I've been in 3 failed relationships with men who either don't know what they want, how to treat a girl, or have a temper problem but I'm beginning to think maybe it's me that makes each individual to leave me the way they do.

A break-up isn't ever easy, and right now it's certainly not, but to be frank, it makes me never want to give myself to another idiot again. I'm jaded from this depressing pattern of fervent love in the beginning and then dying interest at the end.

I never thought YOU'd make me feel this way, but good job because ya did. I get your situation but I was hoping you'd do it the honorable way.

Today, love is not on my side and I don't ever want it to come my way unless it's ready to conquer all.

I had a mini break-down last night for several reasons and I came to a lot of realizations about myself...

Without getting into much detail, I think I need to hide away for awhile, take a mini self vacation for a day and a night by myself and really analyze who I am, what I want, and how to conduct myself in the future in front of friends, colleagues, and in the industry.

I feel as if I have 10x more insecurities and flaws than the person next door and my goal right now is to work on them become a better person for myself so I can be a better friend, daughter, colleague, and role model.

I feel like I'm losing myself and I need to find God on my journey to the other side.

I had dinner with one of my clients from a big time movie studio and she and my boss basically hammered into my head that packing up and moving to LA and trying to become an actress is hands down the worst thing I can do.

A. Trying to be an actress is stupid and unrealistic because

1. I'm small and not particularly attractive.

2. I won't get naked and sleep around with men to climb the acting ladder.

3. I've never acted before.
4. When I'm stressed out or don't get enough sleep I get cold sores which is effing gross and nasty.

But gosh dammit who cares! I'm taking acting classes soon on top of my improv classes and I will pull all the tricks out to book acting gigs.

Plus, I practice crying scenes in my car all the time, and on the toilet so don't tell me I'm not attempting to perfect the acting craft.

My goal is to be a star and with the money and status, help out dogs in need and families who need help!

I will succeed, I just hope my weaknesses bring me down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not crazy about the writing but I love these kind of mystical, action-packed, fiction books. I'm not really into it, surprisingly, but I'm reading it because the action parts of it are thrilling as heck:

I've always been a huge fan of fiction novels but then my friend recommended me this book called "Under the Banner of Heaven" which is a non-fiction book based on Mormonism and it completely blew my mind and got me incredibly interested in non-fiction books. If you want to read a book, read this insanely well-written novel by Jon Krakauer, it'll open your eyes to a fanatical religion:

I think it's safe to say that I am pretty busy with my life right and even though I'm doing loads of fun things, I realized during my second meeting for volunteering at the local animal shelter that my heart is with animals.

My goal in life:

I will strive for entertainment and put my heart and soul into it. I will make it to the top and when I have done what I've always wanted to achieve, I will take my earnings and will devote the rest of my life to animals and most importantly, saving dogs.

That is my goal.....now, I must get there.

The Help Review

I just finished the last pages of Kathryn Stockett's "The Help" and I'm feeling quite sad that the story has ended and I'll have to move on from such a light yet hard-hitting plot and characters that I have fallen deeply connected with.

I say the plot is light because Stockett manages to write "The Help" in such a way that the reader can get lost in its characters' bonds and humor that one can easily forget the severity of what this book revolves around-segregation between whites and the colored, racism, and ignorance.

As a person of color, it's difficult for me to comprehend the kind of suffering black people had to endure during the 1960's (granted the book takes place when black folks were no longer "slaves" but maids and workers to the whites.) While reading the book, I disturbingly understood why the whites detested the blacks to the degree they did. If for decades, your parents, uncles, aunts, friends, teachers, and history books brainwashed you into thinking darker people were dirty, insignificant, unintelligent, worthless, disease ridden, and lower than you, it's simple for you to accept it, believe in it, and practice what you've been preached. I was grateful this book opened my eyes to both sides of the spectrum. The black women of this novel are intensely beautiful, intelligent, and strong as oxen. It made me reflect on my strength as a Korean woman and I felt ashamed that I hold not even 5% of their strength and courage.

Rather than getting into how I feel about it all, I encourage you to pick this read up and immerse yourself in its words, subject, and characters. I finished it in less than a week and it's a book I won't be forgetting for years to come.

Last night after dinner my mom vented some family problems out to my sister and I. After she was done, I kind of sat there filled with sadness, anger, and confusion. I was distraught because she was so upset and the family members involved in the debacle were struggling. I was angry at a particular individual for causing the mess and I was confused at all the emotions I was feeling. The most frustrating part of it all is that I can do nothing but sit there and let it all play out. Honestly I wish I could do something to make the pain go away for all the parties involved but I know there is nothing I can do.

Life doesn't make sense to me most of the time but I think this is the part where I look up to the Lord and ask Him for guidance, peace, and answers.

It's just so hard sometimes.

Big Bang's TOP was in the city this year and everyone around me seemed to be at the club he was at this weekend. Was I there? HELL NO! It would've been madd chaos. My friend DJ's at the club so I'll ask him how he was as a person. I'll let you TOP lovers know.

Me so obsessed with scarvesssss! The scarf that I don't have the balls to shell out over $150 for is the white and blue Summer Peace Duptta Sir Alistair Rai scarf....most. beautiful. scarf. ever. I have other colors but have never been able to get my hands on this masterpiece:
